Day 3 of O2’s GolfLive saw some rain which pushed a lot of people into the marquee, which was good for my talk. Professioanl Golfer Jeremy Kavanagh joined my session and gave an insight into how he’s learning to express himself under pressure. His performance at The British Open 2009, Turnberry was exceptional for the first 9 holes where he was the leading European at 3 under and he spoke about how stress impacted his round on the back 9, dropping shots and ended up shooting 74. This shows the winning margins in professional sport are so tiny and I’m sure Jeremy will progress further this year and I’m looking forward to being a part of his journey.
Later in the day I watched Paul Casey in the short game theatre play with incredible touch and feel and hole a shot out of the bunker to the appreciation of the onlooking crowd. Then towards the end of the day I witness the 3 hole Celebrity Challenge with Ian Poulter, Billy Foster, Manuel de los Santos and it was amazing to watch Manuel hit the ball so well with just the one leg. What dedication to be able to play the sport with such a disability and it just puts everything into perspective.
So that wraps up the entire 3 day Event and I very much look forward to being a part of it next year. Hope you’ve enjoyed my blog and speak to you again soon.
