John Higgins hits the headlines for all the wrong reasons, in Snooker bribe probe

Can you believe it? No sooner had I finished at the Snooker World Championships 2010 where Ali Carter lost out to Neil Robertson, the news broke regarding the bribery allegations against the World Champion and current World No.1 John Higgins.

To say I was surprised and shocked would be an understatement. Having experienced the highs and lows of professional sport over the last couple of weeks with Ali Carter beating Shaun Murphy but losing to Neil Robertson, it was a massive disappointment for the integrity of Snooker to receive this news. I only hope and pray that there will be limited damage to the great sport of Snooker and that it will continue to thrive under the new WPBSA Chairman Barry Hearn during this difficult time.

Neil Robertson plays Graham Dott in the Final day at the Crucible in a few minutes time. Lets hope these two great players will put on a show for the benefit of Snooker and its loyal fans.

I know lots of you were following Ali during his matches and he appreciated all the support. We have already spoken today about our plans for the start of next season.

We will keep you posted.
